PIPPIN
About:
Reboot Theatre Company presents PIPPIN, performing September 11th through October 3rd, 2026 at 12th Avenue Arts. Book by Roger O. Hirson, Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Originally produced on the Broadway stage by Stuart Ostrow. Originally directed on the Broadway stage by Bob Fosse. 2013 Broadway revival directed by Diane Paulus. Theo Ending Originally Conceived In 1998 by Mitch Sebastian. PIPPIN is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
This reboot boldly reimagines Stephen Schwartz's iconic musical Pippin under the canvas of a 1930s traveling tent revival. A world where miracles are promised, tribulation is certain, and the line between salvation and surrender is razor thin. In this reimagining, the Leading Player becomes a charismatic Preacher, and the Players become the Revivalists, true believers who guide Pippin through war, politics, and pleasure in search of a life of purpose and transcendence. Or do they?
We are now seeking talented performers to join us.
Content Warning: Intimacy, sexual situations, some characters will be seen in underwear. Topics explored include fascism, violence, and religious fanaticism.
