PRODUCTION MANAGER

Reboot Theatre Company is hiring a production manager for our on-going 2026 season. The Production Manager (PM) is responsible for managing the Design Team, creating and adhering to the production calendar, tracking any production elements required to open the show, and overseeing the production budget. This position is a contracted stipend position.

WHO ARE WE:

Reboot Theatre Company is an award-winning nonprofit theatre company founded in 2014. Our mission is to reimagine established works utilizing nontraditional casting and design. We produce two mainstage shows a year, usually musicals. Since our founding, Reboot has secured a reputation for being a place where artists can be who they are and become who they want to be. We have no paid employees, our working volunteer board fulfills “staff” needs, and is comprised of passionate, professional, and deeply caring individuals.


APPLICATION PROCESS:

Applications are open now through February 15, 2026.

Interviews with members of the Reboot board of directors will begin mid-February with position to start March 1, 2026.

COMPENSATION:

$200/month. The PM is not an employee of Reboot Theatre Company. Compensation is provided as a stipend intended to offset expenses related to services performed and in accordance with RCW 50.04.275. The PM is responsible for their own insurance and taxes as applicable, will be required to complete and submit a Form W-9, and will receive a Form 1099 at the end of the year.

DURATION AND HOURS:

4-10 hours a month during pre-production and 40-60 hours a month during two weeks of load-in/tech (we produce two mainstage shows a year.)

Contract Term: March 2026 - December 2026 with option to extend into 2027. 

LOCATION:

Hybrid, but must be in-person during load-in, tech, and strike of Man of La Mancha at Theatre Off Jackson (evenings and weekends, March 23- April 2, 2026, strike is all day April 19th) and Pippin in the studio at 12th Avenue Arts (evenings and weekends, August 24-September 10, 2026, strike is all day October 4, 2026). Both productions take place in Seattle, WA.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • PM is the main point of contact for the production team (Stage Management, Directing Team, and Design Team) and responsible for communicating all show needs. 

  • Manage production budgets and track expenses

  • Creates, manages, and communicates show schedule to the production team.

  • Acts as the primary liaison between the venue and production team. This is in partnership with the Artistic Director.

  • Reports to the Artistic Director any updates and issues surrounding the production.

  • Coordinates volunteers for auditions, load-in, build, and strike. 

  • Schedules and coordinates auditions and callbacks.

  • Manages show email inbox.

  • PM is responsible for tracking all contracts and assisting in the execution of contracts pertaining to the production.

  • Schedules and runs regular production meetings.

  • Follows up with individual designers in between meetings, as necessary, to assure that they are on track.

  • PM is required to be physically on-site for load-in, tech, and strike.

  • Coordinates any load-in/load-out needs.

  • Creates and coordinates strike schedule.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing diverse teams, including designers, directors, and stage management.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to create and maintain production calendars, schedules, and budgets.

  • Clear, strong, and proactive communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively between stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience in theatre production, with an understanding of the full production cycle from pre-production through strike.

  • Collaborative problem-solving skills, with the ability to take initiative and make well-informed decisions independently when needed.

  • Ability to facilitate and lead efficient production meetings, ensuring accountability and progress across departments.

  • Hands-on experience coordinating technical aspects of load-in, tech rehearsals, and strike, including venue relations and resource management.

  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends, during intensive production periods.

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for people from all backgrounds and identities.
